As reported by Thinking Anglicans, Uganda's "Leading Website" (we've met this peculiar outfit before), New Vision Online, quotes Orombi saying:
"Nowadays, I don’t wear my collar when I am in countries which have supporters of homosexuals,” he said while addressing Christians at Kitunga archdeaconry, West Ankole diocese in Ntungamo district.
"I am forced to dress like a civilian because those people are dangerous. They can harm anybody who is against them. Some of them are killers. They want to close the mouth of anybody who is against them."
This man is a tit. He is an idiot as well as deluded. His argument (if there actually is one) is the make children argument (others as stupid add the plughole argument).
He argued that God created men and women so that they could have children and fill the world so that the generations could continue. "So where do the homosexuals want to get their children?" he asked.
Well, they ask their friends. It's not as if there aren't enough children already. Perhaps he ought to think that his God (it isn't mine) might just produce a proportion of infertile people in order to cut the unsustainable increase in the world's population. A few more gay relationships that don't produce children would be no bad thing.
I hardly want to engage this individual in debate, but one of the outcomes of evolution is the minority that slip under the fittest-surviving, and furthermore that some higher animals look after their minorities. Why are they useful? Because when there are cataclysmic environmental changes those that maintain minorities suddenly find their groups are the more flexible to cope with the changes. So a "natural" condition is to produce varieties that are not the most obvious, the most efficient, the great majority.
Gay people are the ones consistently on the receiving end of prejudice (like his) and violence (like in the countries of these nasty Church leaders). They are not going around with guns and knives looking to shoot or stab the latest homosexual hater. They do not reciprocate the hatred, that hatred which for too long has been institutionalised into Churches.
We know why, don't we, that Peter Jensen jumped in to answer the more sensitive questions at the recent GAFCON. for myself, I usually judge that and the now FOCA outfit on their theology and ecclesiology, because they consistently say it is all about scriptural authority not homosexuality. I rather think it is too, when it comes to the Sugden, Minns and Jensen drivers of this movement, for whom Akinola, Orombi and other characters are ballast. Of course these people also have views of scriptural content and authority, but they can keep them to themselves as appropriate for types of African religion - the cultural nature of Anglicanism.
Those who go on to attach themselves to this Primates' Council had better realise what deeply unpleasant people they are. If they want to be movers in world Anglicanism they ought to start speaking like such rather than the ignorant prejudiced yocals that they appear to be. I wouldn't go anywhere near them, but then I wouldn't on theological grounds either.
They have at least had one effect on the Church of England so far. Any idea that there might be structural provision for Anglo-Catholic traditionalists was finally scuppered by the plans and intentions of this Primates' Council. As I've said myself before, you don't make it easy for them.

I like your blog very much. Great articles. Question: are the drawings yours and how might I get permission to use one occasionally (with attribution of course) on my blog PRELUDIUM (anglicanfuture.blogspot.com) ?
You can answer me by email at poetmark@comcast.net
Thanks.
Answer is yes they are mine (from photos as they appear on the web) and yes you can use whichever whenever and yes attribute but no need to ask me again (and this applies to anyone).
The cartoon of the women recently was my re-coloured version of Torch Song where the record player turned into a pulpit, seats disappeared and a window appeared. Naughty me.
How to tell if really mine: they look fairly similar and many of them are done in the Microsoft Paint program - I keep things simple.
Well I'm not gay and I'd quite like to kill him.
Does that help at all?
Even a little bit?
No, not really. The homosexual is a 'hate-cateogory' rather like the gypsies are in Italy now, for which economic recession or even depression would be disastrous.
